Since the ceiling’s lightweight tiles are installed within a grid that is also made from a lightweight metal framework, a dropped ceiling will not be strong enough to support pendant lights, hanging plants and other heavy fixtures. If you intend to decorate your suspended ceiling with white Christmas lights to make it look wonderful for the event you are organizing, you are going to need specialized hooks that are made to slide onto the ceiling’s support grid.

Hanging white wire Christmas lights from a suspended ceiling doesn’t need the expertise of a professional light installer. The task is quite simple that a woman will not even need help from a man unless she feels uncomfortable working on a small ladder. The first thing to do would be to measure the area where you intend to hang the white Christmas lights in order for you to determine how many strands of lights you will need. You should also take note of the location of the electrical outlets in the room. Determine how many suspended ceiling hooks are needed for the installation of the Christmas lights. If you want to create a swag of lights between the hooks, you can arrange the hooks further apart. If you want the lights to be nearly level against the ceiling, the hooks should be at least a foot apart.

Installing the hooks is not a difficult task either. All you have to do is to lift the ceiling tile gently and slide the hook’s grooved base onto the T-shaped grid. Once done, you can lower the tile back into place.
